Sodium

What it does: Sodium drives blood plasma volume. It's what lets your nervous system fire correctly and keeps your blood pressure stable when heat dilates every vessel in your body.
Why this dose: A 30-minute session at 180°F drains roughly 1,000mg from your body. Most electrolyte products cap sodium at 500mg because they were built for gym workouts, not sauna heat. We matched the loss.
Form: Pharmaceutical-grade sodium chloride.

Potassium
400 MG
What it does: Potassium runs your heart muscle and prevents cramping. In heat, cardiac demand spikes. Drop your potassium and you feel the racing pulse, the lightheadedness, the next-morning fatigue.
Why this dose: 2× the potassium of most competitors. Susanna Søberg's research on heat-induced mineral loss shows potassium drops faster in sauna than in athletic sweat. The dose matches the loss.
Form: Potassium chloride and potassium citrate.

Magnesium
100 MG
What it does: Magnesium runs 300+ enzymatic reactions in your body. The ones you'll feel most: sleep depth, muscle recovery, stress response. Heat depletes it. Plain water dilutes what's left.
Why this dose: 100mg of elemental magnesium in the citrate form. Highest bioavailability of any oral magnesium. You absorb it. You don't pee it out.
Form: Magnesium citrate.
Mineral 04
Vitamin C
250 MG
What it does: Buffers oxidative stress from heat. Regulates cortisol after the session ends. Supports immune function in athletes who use heat 4 to 7 times a week.
Why this dose: The differentiator. LMNT contains zero vitamin C. Liquid IV uses 75mg. We use 250mg because heat is an inflammatory stressor and your body burns through vitamin C trying to recover.
Form: Ascorbic acid.
Other ingredients: citric acid (for taste), natural strawberry lemonade flavor, organic stevia leaf extract. That's it. No sugar. No dyes. No fillers.
What we deliberately left out.
- No taurine. Recent research has flagged cancer-cell growth concerns with high-dose taurine supplementation. We're not interested in the trade-off.
- No creatine. Creatine works on saturation, not timing. Customers take it separately. Stacking it into a pre-sauna mix doesn't make sense.
- No sugar. Sugar spikes insulin before you walk into the heat. Wrong move.
- No artificial colors. Red 40, Yellow 5, Blue 1 are banned across the EU. We don't use them.
- No proprietary blends. Every milligram is on the label. If a brand hides doses behind a "blend" name, they're hiding underdosing. We're not playing that game.

How is this different from LMNT and Liquid IV?
Same sodium as LMNT (1,000mg). But we run 2× the potassium (400mg vs 200mg), 1.67× the magnesium (100mg vs 60mg), and add 250mg of vitamin C neither competitor includes. Liquid IV runs 11g of sugar per serving — we run zero. The ratios are calibrated for what 30 minutes at 180°F actually drains, not what marathon runners lose over hours.
When does it ship?
All founders orders ship 1-3 business days after ordering. You'll get tracking the moment your tub leaves our Long Island facility. If you subscribe, your next delivery auto-ships every 60 days after that.
What happens to the price after the first 500 customers?
Founders pricing is $48/tub ($40.80/tub on subscription). After the first 500 customers, retail goes up. Founders keep their original price permanently as long as the subscription stays active — even after the retail price increases.
Is this safe if I'm on blood pressure meds or have kidney issues?
1,000mg of sodium per serving is significant — that's the point. If you're on blood pressure medication, have kidney disease, or have been told to restrict sodium, talk to your physician before using Sauna Method. We won't ship without you reading the label disclosure.
