The Formula

Built for sauna sweat. Not gym sweat.

Every electrolyte on the shelf is calibrated for athletes. Sauna physiology is different. Here's how we built one that respects that.

Sauna sweat is a different animal.

A 30-minute sauna session pulls about 1 liter of fluid out of your body. You'd think drinking 1 liter of water afterward replaces it. It doesn't.

Sweat isn't just water. It's about 1,000 mg of sodium per hour, 200 mg of potassium, plus trace magnesium and chloride. Drinking plain water dilutes what's left in your bloodstream — and leaves you in deficit even when you feel hydrated.

Athletic electrolyte products are calibrated for the kind of sweat you lose during exercise — different sodium-to-potassium ratio, different fluid loss rate, different oxidative stress. Sauna sweat needs its own formulation.

Four ingredients. Calibrated for the heat.

Nothing else. No taurine. No creatine. No mystery proprietary blends.

Sodium - 1,000 mg

The primary mineral your body loses in sweat. Most post-sauna fatigue traces back to sodium deficit. We use a blend of sodium chloride and sodium citrate at the same dose as LMNT — but calibrated alongside our other minerals for sauna physiology, not gym workouts.

Potassium - 400 mg

Replenishes cellular nerve and muscle function depleted by heavy sweating. We use 2× the potassium of most electrolyte brands — sauna sweat depletes intracellular potassium more aggressively than exercise sweat.

Magnesium Glycinate - 100 mg

Supports muscle recovery and nerve function. We chose the glycinate form for superior bioavailability and minimal GI distress. The dose is calibrated below daytime drowsiness threshold — works whether you sauna at 7am or 9pm.

Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid) - 250 mg

Heat exposure creates measurable oxidative stress in the body. Vitamin C neutralizes those free radicals during and after high-temperature sessions. Most electrolyte brands skip this — we built around it.

What we left out - on purpose.

No Taurine

Recent research (Nature, 2024) raised questions about taurine and certain cancer cell growth. The science is preliminary, but we'd rather err on the side of caution with a daily-use product.

No Creatine

Creatine works through saturation — daily dose matters, timing doesn't. Adding it to a recovery drink implies timing matters, which isn't supported by research. Most of our customers already take creatine separately.

No Proprietary Blends

You should know exactly how much of each ingredient you're getting. Proprietary "blends" hide individual ingredient amounts from consumers. We list every milligram.
